Dear Staff,
On August 13, 2008 my daughter Taylor Wald was in a rollover on County Hwy.
M just out of Cable past Metro's
Bar. At the time, no less than 3 people contacted the police department and
finally someone drove to Cable to your offices to see if we could get an
ambulance dispatched. This entire process took well over an hour and 1/2.
It is our intent that we are well withing our rights and the statute of
limitations to file litigation against your offices and the Bayfield County
Police Department for their neglegence pertaining to this incident. We are
in the process of seeking an attorney and proceeding but first would like
to see what you have to say regarding this manner. Because you are not a
volunteer rescue service you are not exempt from being held liable in a
situation like this. My daughter was in shock, hurt and no one came despite
many efforts on many individuals behalves. We will be contacting the
Bayfield County police department requesting the records of the calls that
were made to them that evening by numerous people and why no one was
dispatched. At this time I would like to know where our legal information
should be submitted. Is it at the local office in Cable or somewhere else.
I do feel that upon review of all the information you will see that both
your services and the Bayfield County police department were neglegent to
the point of almost being commical if not for people being injured. Someone
dropped the ball on this one and we intend to find out who and be
compensated accordingly. I thank you for your time and cooperation.
Sincerely, Vicki M. Cox on behalf of Taylor Marie Wald
